relieving of block
- block decks being machined
parallel to the crank centerline
- cylinders being bored and
honed using a deck plate
- main bearing bores being
align honed
- oil galleys being thoroughly
cleaned and modified as needed
- block casting being deburred
inside and out
- crankshafts, both new and
used, being magnafluxed
- crankshaft oil holes being
raidused and polished
- crankshaft being indexed
and turned to insure proper journal radius
- piston/rod assembly being
matched for length
- rod bearings being properly
clearanced
- the block assembly being
assembled to check for oil pump and pan clearance and proper
deck height
- final cleaning and assembly
of the short block
- setting the cam timing
- installation of the head(s),
intake manifold and carburetor
- engine being broken in, valve
lash, timing and curb idle being set
